Double XL
Double XL ,hip-hop Artist, Ceo, Promoter, community leader is a living legend in Virginia. Double XL, Terry Fenner, was born to teenage parents. They were 15 years old. He was raised in the poverty stricken and crime ridden Southeast End of Newport News, Virginia. He started rapping at the age of 6. He won every talent show in elementary, middle, and high school. Double XL found himself in the streets at the very young age 12 years old. Rapping and playing football in high school changed his life.
College friend and music alliance Rodney “Ceo P” Bailey helped manage his career, assisting with an independent label contract deal with Suthernboi Ent. The label released his debut album Me vs. Me through BCD (FYE distribution). In 2006 Double XL started his own label, Hood Platinum Media Group, and released a string of mixtapes that gained regional notoriety. Double XL holds the distinction of being one of the very first hip hop artist to performed on the 2007 and 2008 Van’s Warped Tour. In 2012 Double XL released his single entitled Troy P which gained him national and international notoriety. The song eventually helped him ink a single deal with Koch/E One records.
Double XL is the true definition of a renaissance man. Over the last 18 years he has earned teacher of the year twice and is now an assistant principal at his alma mater. He has earned a reputation as the go to host for huge events and concerts in Virginia. He is also the Co-creator and co-host of HPMG’s G.O.A.T Talk radio on Wu World Radio. He has performed along side artists such as Travis Scott, Juicy J, Kevin Hart, Dip Set, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Young Jeezy, Kindrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, and countless others. Under his guidance, HPMG has become one of the most recognized independent urban labels in the Southeast United States.
